What is the Extended License?

The Extended License is required if you want to use a 3D product in a way that goes beyond rendered 2D artwork.

For example, if you want to include a 3D model, texture, morph, preset, or other product file in a game, app, VR/AR project, interactive experience, or another downloadable or distributed project, you need an Extended License or written permission from 3D Shards or the original seller.

What is allowed with an Extended License?

With an Extended License, you may use the purchased 3D product as part of a larger end product, such as:

• a video game;
• a mobile app;
• a VR or AR experience;
• an interactive project;
• a real-time scene;
• a simulation;
• a virtual production project.

You may include the asset in your project only as part of the final compiled, packaged, or protected end product.

What is not allowed?

Even with an Extended License, you may not:

• resell the original product files;
• upload or share the original product files;
• give the source files to other people;
• sell the asset as a standalone 3D model, texture pack, morph, preset, or merchant resource;
• include the asset in a way that allows users to extract, download, or reuse the original files;
• claim that you created the original asset;
• use the product in a competing asset marketplace or asset pack.

Games and interactive projects

If you use the asset in a game or interactive project, the asset must be embedded, compiled, encrypted, or otherwise reasonably protected so that end users cannot easily extract or reuse the original product files.

Your players or users may interact with the asset inside your project, but they may not receive the original 3D files, textures, presets, morphs, or other source files as separate downloadable content.

Important note

Not every product automatically includes an Extended License.
