   I bought the first version of UPI and started working with it in DS 4.24. Since I had a lot of old content from my Poser days, the plug-in helped me immensely in integrating it into my current content, which now spans about 8,000 products after nearly 20 years with Poser and DAZ.
   Then DS6 came out, and UPI no longer worked with it—which I found more than a shame. When I learned that Matronius was looking for testers for a DS6-compatible version, I applied and had the pleasure of being able to test the new version from the ground up. The new UPI is so much more than the old version. Of course, it’s not all-powerful, but it’s an incredibly helpful tool. I create my own content, and I can use UPI to seamlessly integrate it into Smart Content while also packaging it so it’s ready for sale. Metadata is easier to customize and assign than in DAZ. And I can now use all the new features in both DS4 and DS6. Since I switch between the two DS versions, this is essential for me.
   Working with Matronius has also shown me how seriously they take feedback and how quickly and reliably they work on solutions. This demonstrates both the value of this product and the passion that goes into it. For anyone who, like me, has large content databases, I highly recommend this plug-in. You can find content faster, work with it in parallel, and, if you set it up, it immediately shows you the right products for the right character. The UPI has become an indispensable plug-in for me, one that’s constantly being developed behind the scenes and whose team offers excellent support.

   I recently lost my content library due to a drive failure and was dreading having to install thousands of zip files, and I spotted this plug in at the perfect time.
   So, I literally dragged about a hundred zip files at a time over to the install screen, hit the install button, and away it went, job done.
   So far I only had two files that failed to install, but when I looked at them, I realised they were zipped video files, so not needed anyway.
   It is so easy to now put things exactly where I want them, and do it quickly, which is a BIG plus for me, who wants to spend days or weeks installing content?
   If you are thinking '' do I really need this?'' yes you do! I don`t write product reviews, but this is a fantastic addition to my DS toolbox and I can`t wait to see what the vendor comes up with next.

   It is claimes that this installs content correctly into Smart Content, but that is not true. Instead of inserting the content into the right Smart Content categoeries only a new folder called "people" is generated and the content is then inserted below that the same way it is in the normal, non-smart, DAZ categories (My DAZ Library etc.). This leads to very convoluted installs that are not user friendly. There are other solutions that do this better by creating a new product under lost and found - where I then can categorize it myself. I thought I could avoid that with this tool as advertised, but that is not the case. It even is MORE work and effort to correctly categorize assets with this. In my opinion this is a waste of money.

   If you only need this for installing third party assets then it's very easy to use and does the job. However, if you're like me and wanted to make use of the metadata editing, it's not there yet. Basic categorization works but setting compatibility/base does not. There are a few other quirks as well and I suggest checking out the feature requests before purchase to see if what you need is implemented or not.

   Let me preface this with the fact that I did receive the plugin for free for full transparency. That said, it is a plugin that I very much was going to purchase as soon as my budget allowed it, I was simply lucky enough to see the request for a tester and for having experience as a tester, that as soon as I saw this request I jumped on it. In all honesty before testing it I was a bit intimidated, mostly due to my past experience with DazStudio plugins and how incredibly complicated most of them are. This isn’t the case for UPI, I'm happy to report, especially considering the features it has. I will start my review with the initial installation, very simple and straight forward and it was the first point in which I was somewhat impressed. Oftentimes when installing something which has a dependency based on another program, I have to manually input the directory of that program, this is a point of annoyance to me, in this case none of that was necessary, the installer very accurately detected my installation directory for DazStudio, which is not on my main drive. Now moving on to the launching of UPI, couldn’t have been more simple, upon launching DazStudio, a new tab was created in the menu bar named after the vendor(Matronius) and within it was the launch button for UPI. Again a very simple and straightforward process. UPI launches immediately in a new window, the UI is very easy to understand and user friendly, there are basically two tabs, one is for installation and one where you can see the installed content. Starting from the installation tab, you can easily choose the install directory you want to use by clicking the folder button. As for the installation itself you either drag the zip into the field or click the plus icon and locate the zip manually. Click install and done.

   This is a truly wonderful plugin.
   I also shop at other stores besides 3DShards, but the separation of directories between those stores and the Smart Content system often caused me to forget about assets I had purchased.
   However, with this installer, I can display items from other stores in Smart Content, so I don't forget about my purchased items anymore.
   Also, it automatically creates thumbnails from the asset icons, which is great because I can see at a glance what each item is.
   This product would be very useful for anyone who frequently shops at stores other than the Daz Store.
