"...too late Professor Holliwell guessed the truth: it was the Amulet!! The Amulet had summoned the THING in the hallway! The blood red stone glowed, now, with a malevolent eldritch energy. It was awake, and it had called out to its master to reclaim it!!"

Meet Professor Lyla Holliwell; archaeologist, occultist, delver into hidden mysteries that might be best left... hidden. Case in point: the glowing amulet hanging around the good professor's lovely neck. What began as an intriguing question of the amulet's origins has become an encounter with an unimaginable horror. Will the THING take the accursed Amulet and leave Professor Holliwell unharmed, or will it seek to drag her screaming into whatever mad dimension it calls home? Who knows? Perhaps the only thing that might save the professor is the Dagger she holds in her upraised hand... if only she can summon the courage to use it...

I've been a fan of Lovecraftian fiction for a very long time, so this contest was one I HAD to enter! Hope you enjoy the image, and I just might use poor Professor Holliwell for some future images. Required contest items include Mythos Accessories and Props by Sadriel, and dForce Kardigan by Sade.

I made some Lovecraft inspired renders using the Mythos pack.

It is telling of the quality of the modeling and texturing that those jewelry props work just as well as giant statues .

"The museum curator's death had definitely been suspicious, but that's not the case I was being paid to solve. The curator's widow had hired me to track down some items that went missing when he was bumped off. When I called to say I'd found them, she insisted we meet at my office despite the late hour. I showed her the weird old statue, and her eyes lit up, flashing that deep, poisonous green color I'd found so dazzling when we first met. I said I couldn't see how the thing could be worth much, but she promised I'd find out what was so special about it soon enough. Something about the look in her eye made me wonder if I wanted to know at all, but I'm a detective; I can't be satisfied until I can see the whole picture."
