I don't have a list with props yet, I hope people have a lot great idea's for things they would love to see made. There are many options and I will try to make a list of what I think would be nice or interesting but if you have any idea's yourself on what you would think would be fitting for the plushies you are more than welcome to make them.

I have started working on a cartoon style doghouse but my sculpting skills are non existent and this is my first try at sculpting so between curses I am learning a lot, when it is done everyone who wants to make textures for it is more than welcome to work on it. the more textures the better :D

I can't model nor texture anything to save my life, but I think this is a great project and I would support it in any way I can, which right now is to just be a cheerleader. :)

That chinchilla is SUPER CUTE! I'm interested in participating. I don't know what skills I have to offer. I'm not an absolute beginner at 3D modeling, but still very new and not good enough to offer those skills. The only texturing I do is in GIMP, creating covers for 3D models of books, board game boxes, soda cans :) ... If you can come up with a task, all I can do is try. I'm probably best as a cheerleader though.

Btw, if anyone is interested in having a 3D modeling student, I'm willing.

We always love cheerleaders, helping with idea's is great too.
I chose the dog house because it should be fairly easy to texture since its just 4 walls with a roof and you can put pictures on them :)

I will do my best to finish the dog house this weekend, so people have at least 1 prop to work on to get the plushie.

You can always start with something simple like the chinchilla sand bags. The advantage is that they can be textured as anything if you keep the UV simple.

If you put the seam around the edges the UV will be two squares so it will be easy for other people to texture (just make sure both halves are the right way up)

You can have 2 material zones one for the bag and one for the label so it is easier for people to drag a material onto the bag without overriding the label.

and maybe if you are feeling fancy add material zones around the edges or maybe at the top where a different color might make sense or feel right. so if people decide to make it a burlap sack instead of plastic they can add some other colors as an accent color but that is just optional as you see fit.

You could see how that goes and if it feels easy and you are up for more you could add a mesh for the sand on the inside and put that on a different UV.

When I look at those sandbags, I see "pillows." I use blender. Are you thinking something along the lines of using Blender's cloth simulation to create pillows/sandbags? The UV mapping makes perfect sense, as I modeled pillows once before and typically use only seamless textures.

Attached are two images. One shows the only set of pillows I have modeled. They fit on top of a bedspread. The pink textures shows the UV mapping (which I never finished correcting :) ). The other attachment shows the type of hard surface modeling I normally do (pink image to show UV mapping for seamless texture.) I would really like to get into soft surface modeling but don't know how to do so.

If we are thinking along the same lines for the sandbags, I'll give it a shot. Let me know.

The bag looks great and has a nice natural shape and feel to it.
Maybe add a plastic strip on the top of the bag with an opening where people usually grab the bag to carry it.
Not all bags have that so it could also be a second variation of the bag.

And have you ever worked with morphs before?
Once you are satisfied with the mesh of the bag and have the lying down bag done,
you could try to resculpt the mesh, so don't add any poligons, faces or edges just move them around and make a standing version of the same bag, we can then import that as a morph so you can have a slider "Standing" or something like that.
But those are all extra options if you think its fun to add those.
