On some days, it is hard to tell whether what one sees is truly there, or merely presented in the way it is meant to be seen. Something appears vulnerable, open, almost fragile, and yet a quiet doubt lingers, not quite graspable, more a feeling than a thought, as if something were missing or perhaps too much is there, without being able to name what it is.
One wants to believe it is real. Perhaps because it is easier. Perhaps because one wishes to see it that way. And while still trying to distinguish between closeness and distance, between what truly touches and what only seems to, a subtle shift begins to form, barely noticeable, yet effective. Not enough to distrust. But enough to never be entirely certain.
And it is exactly there where it should remain, so that no harm is done. Between what could be true. And what is meant to be believed.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀 𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
She comes from a land whose name is unknown to most. A place not marked on any map, and perhaps never truly was.
There, she is one of those who watch over the balance of all creatures. Over what is seen. And over what lies beyond human perception.
She stands at the head of a rare elven clan devoted to this very task. Once, it was simply care for all living things. For animals. For creatures. Each was meant to have its place. None should be lost.
But care became responsibility. And responsibility became duty. And it is this duty Canere follows. With mindfulness and persistence. And with the kind of courage it takes when balance begins to falter.
Born of an ancient lineage of water elves, bound to the land more by chance than by choice, she takes her role within the “land between worlds” seriously in all its facets.
Yet she does not stand alone.
The bravest and most empathetic elves of her clan follow her. Not out of obligation, but out of conviction. Their families carry this path with pride, knowing well that protection always demands sacrifice.
For a long time, the balance held.
But now…
something seems to have slipped out of order. Barely visible. Not truly graspable.
One name keeps returning.

Chepi.

No one knows exactly what has happened. Only that she is no longer where she should be.
And that is precisely why she is here.
